The Launch Party for the UK Black Pride 2009 took place at WORK! which is one of London’s most popular urban club nights.

The full capacity event was hosted by HRH Celeste, promoter of Club Caribana, as well as Lady Fro and the internationally recognised comedian, Gina Yashere, who also announced that the British Soul Queen and multi-award winning artist Beverley Knight will be headlining this year’s UK Black Pride festival.

Beverley Knight will be premiering material form her 6th studio album titled “100%” live on stage at UK Black Pride in the grounds of Regents Park College.

Revellers at WORK! were treated to a mind blowing performance from the rising starlet of the music scene, funky diva Meleka, as well as an impromptu stand-up routine from Gina Yashere. The event raised £500 for UK Black Pride and generated a massive buzz about the festival with a critical clubbing audience.
