Amanda (she/her) has been an integral part of the UK Black Pride team for 10 years.
UK Black Pride has been a vital part of Amanda’s growth and development because the organisation is a way to advocate for those who are unable to have access to safe spaces to be themselves. The organisation also helps to create avenues that will educate and celebrate LGBT+ members about the Black community and culture.
Amanda notes that being a member of the UK Black Pride team has allowed her to be a part of a movement, one that has created a safe space and platform where Black LGBT people are able to love, live and celebrate in unity, welcoming friends and families annually for more than a decade.
